My life is what I would describe as one big adventure.  I have always been outgoing and ready to try new things but a few years ago I feel like my life finally started at the age of 33.    Growing up I always struggled with my weight. It wasn’t until my Senior year of high school that I actually gained weight but up to that point I always obsessed about it. A year after high school I joined the military and the weight peeled off. Shortly before finishing my 4 yrs in the military I started gaining weight again after giving birth to my first child in 96. When I left the military I moved to Michigan and had my second child in 99 and my third child in 2000. I lost weight in 2001 but yo yo’d up and down for the next 7 years before I hit an all time high of 240lbs. I was miserable,  sick with asthma, and generally hated life.  That is when I decided to do something. I lost 80lbs over the course of the year with a diet program called Medical Weight Loss and a devout exercise program.  To say the least keeping the weight off hasn’t been easy but I have managed to maintain for the most part.  I still have another 15lbs that I would like to lose.  Researching nutrition and exercise has become my new favorite past time and I would love to share everything I learn.  I am married and have 3 teenage girls.  I also work full time for a Commercial Finance Company.  Some of my many adventures include running, yoga, and photography.

I am embarking on what I feel will be the greatest adventure of all and that is finding me.  If someone were to ask me right now what I want to be when I grow up I would have a laundry list of things I want to do from being the President on down.  I am always looking and searching and never really knowing what I am searching or looking for but that is part of what make it so fun and exhausting at the same time.  My plan is to tackle that laundry list and see what I can achieve and I thought what better way is there to look back on the adventure than to write about it and document it.  This is something I wish I would have done for the past few years now but there’s always time to catch up.  And you know what?  I just crossed one adventure off my list……and the adventure begins!
